What is Documentary Videography?

Great question! I would love to tell you.

Documentary footage is video of the real events, moments, and story of your wedding day, rather than directed, contrived, or prompted. It's more of a hands off, fly on the wall, 'The Office' style production.

Hanley Photo Co.'s documentary wedding films are a linear documentation of your day, in full. All of our elopement collections include both a 2 minute highlight film to recap the day AND up to an hour movie of your day to showcase all the joy, emotion and uniqueness of your elopement day. Your movie will include uncut ceremony footage and any speeches; those once in a lifetime moments that you deserve more than just a recap of.

We here at HPC truly believe that documentary footage is what best captures the true essence of your elopement day. Wedding days can go pretty quickly, so having a documentary wedding film to watch back full clips of your day is invaluable.

Working with me means you'll receive not only beautiful documentary footage of your elopement, but a fun and down-to-earth videographer that assimilates well with your friends and family to blend in!

I'm Tam, your videographer.

After 5 years in the still wedding photography world, I'm psyched to offer video for smaller weddings and elopement days to showcase not only the beautiful moments, but what's going on in and around those moments. Your story at length. It's extremely important to me to always tell the truth when storytelling - to showcase your REAL dynamic with your partner.

My husband and I had a small, 25 person wedding in 2021 so I know the exact way you're feeling right now! As a photographer, I knew there are so many nuances during a wedding day that photo just *can't* capture... but video can! I didn't get to rewatch my dad's speech during dinner or see our sloppy, impromptu first dance in full. I wish I had a 'movie' of our day - so, I'm giving that to you.
